Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FUN RIDER was steadied away from the heels of FLASHING AURA which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SILVER GRECIAN. Near the 1300 Metres, MR BOND was checked away from the heels of CALIFORNIA DUDE. Near the 1100 Metres, FUN RIDER got its head up when proving difficult to settle and racing close to the heels of FLASHING AURA. Near the 1000 Metres, the saddle of MR BOND shifted forward significantly and for some distance MR BOND had to be severely checked away from the heels of runners in front. After the 800 Metres, MR BOND was then shifted out away from behind horses, ran extremely wide and took no further active part in the race. Near the 900 Metres, HAPPY TUMBLER got its head up when proving difficult to settle. Throughout the race, SUNRISE travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SUNRISE after the race did not show any significant findings. SILVER GRECIAN, STRAIGHT FORWARD and KING OF REASON were sent for sampling.
