HAPPY WISDOM began awkwardly. JUST GOOD was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, GABRIAL THE KING was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, MING HOI GLORY, which was being vigorously ridden along, became unbalanced when bumped by BINGO BINGO which shifted out. Passing the 800 Metres, BINGO BINGO raced tight between DIAMOND RAINBOW and MING HOI GLORY. After this, BINGO BINGO got its head up on a number of occasions and making the first turn near the 700 Metres shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of MING HOI GLORY. HAPPY WISDOM, which was following, was hampered in consequence. Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, JUST GOOD was hampered when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY WISDOM. Rounding the Home Turn, MING HOI GLORY and PLOT RATIO raced tight as MING HOI GLORY attempted to shift to the outside of TAKE THE RAP into clear running. Throughout the race, TAKE THE RAP travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BINGO BINGO had bled from both nostrils. HURRY HURRY UP and GOOD SMILE were sent for sampling.
