SHARP HUNTER and DANE PATROL began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, SIR EAGLES raced in restricted room between EVERYONE’S CHOICE and GRIMMY which got its head on the side and shifted out. After the 400 Metres, SUPER FRESH became unbalanced after being bumped by DREAM BUILDER which shifted out. After this, SUPER FRESH was awkwardly placed outside the heels of DREAM BUILDER. Approaching the 300 Metres, GLORIOUS SUNDAY was steadied away from the heels of MULTIVICTORY. Then passing the 200 Metres, GLORIOUS SUNDAY was shifted to the outside of MULTIVICTORY to obtain clear running. Approaching the 100 Metres, GLORIOUS SUNDAY was then shifted to the outside of DANE PATROL to continue improving. Y T Cheng (SIR EAGLES) reported that his mount faltered in its action joining up with the course proper near 500 Metres. He said as SIR EAGLE’s action deteriorated markedly, he immediately eased it down from this point onwards. A veterinary inspection of SIR EAGLES immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its left front leg Before being allowed to race again, SIR EAGLES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Before being allowed to race again, GRIMMY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GRIMMY, RAD and GLORIOUS SUNDAY were sent for sampling.
