ALL MY BENEFIT was slow to begin. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, CAPITAL K, from the outside barrier, failed to muster speed. B Prebble (TARREGA) dropped his whip shortly after the start. AMBITIOUS GLORY travelled keenly in the early and middle stages and after the 700 Metres got its head on the side and lay out. Near the 100 Metres, TARREGA was momentarily shifted away from the heels of FLYING CHINA which shifted out. For the majority of the race, HAPPY HOMING and TARREGA travelled wide and without cover. T H So (FLYING CHINA) was reprimanded for raising his whip arm above shoulder height. A veterinary inspection of SLEDGE HAMMER and TARREGA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of PURE VICTORY including an endoscopic examination immediately following the race showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and was also found to have sustained a cut to the inside of the right hind fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, PURE VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TARREGA, FLYING CHINA and AMBITIOUS GLORY were sent for sampling.
