MEGA CASTLE was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore foot). Before being allowed to race again, MEGA CASTLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRONOUNCED HONOUR was slow to begin. From wide barriers, both BILLION GAINS and CHINA DELIGHT were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After being crossed by HOLLYWOOD KISS at the 1100 Metres, CASA JUNIOR commenced to race keenly and had to be steadied away from the heels of that horse. From approaching the 200 Metres until approaching the 100 Metres, PRONOUNCED HONOUR was held up for clear running. After passing the 100 Metres, the whip of K C Leung (FIERY PATROL) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of J Moreira (SUPER TEAM). Throughout the race, RAINBOW SEEKER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. Trainer L Ho advised that when ridden in a forward position at its most recent start, BILLION GAINS did not close off its race, notwithstanding that the horse was found to have mucopus in its trachea following the race. He said, from barrier 9 tonight, he had instructed T H So to ride BILLION GAINS more conservatively so that the horse could finish off the race with more endeavour. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SUPER TEAM at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER TEAM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SUPER BRAND and SUPERKING DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of HOLLYWOOD KISS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HOLLYWOOD KISS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER TEAM, CHINA DELIGHT and CASA JUNIOR were sent for sampling.
