On arrival at the Start, it was noted that PACKING OK had lost the left front plate. After being replated, PACKING OK was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. TREMENDOUS ADD knuckled over at the start and a short distance later was steadied away from the heels of BIG SAI WAN which shifted in. FEARLESS shifted out at the start and bumped LU YUE. Because of this, LU YUE lost ground. LU YUE was then ridden along to obtain a forward position shortly after the start. From the outside barrier, PACKING OK was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1200 Metres, GREEN CASH was left without cover and because of this was ridden along to obtain a more forward position closer to the rail. Near the 350 Metres, FEARLESS was crowded for room between GREAT BAUHINIA and LU YUE which at this time got its head on the side and shifted out. A short distance later, LU YUE, which was weakening out of the race, became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREEN CASH which shifted out when also commencing to weaken. Near the 300 Metres, FEARLESS was steadied when held up for clear running between GREAT BAUHINIA and GREEN CASH. Passing the 250 Metres, TREMENDOUS ADD and PACKING OK came together as PACKING OK obtained running between TREMENDOUS ADD and VITALITY EXPRESS which at this time shifted out. In this incident, both PACKING OK and TREMENDOUS ADD became unbalanced. The performances of BIG SAI WAN and SPINNAKER, which both finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BIG SAI WAN and SPINNAKER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GREEN CASH after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, it was reported that VITALITY EXPRESS had sustained a cut to the left hind leg. LET ME HANDLE IT and PACKING OK were sent for sampling.
