INDUSTRIAL LEGEND was slow to begin. GOLD RUSH was crowded for room at the start between FERRABOSCO and COMPACT YARN which shifted out. Shortly after the start, HORSE WIN WIN was bumped by NEW LEADER which, after initially being taken out by FERRABOSCO, then shifted out of its own accord. Also shortly after the start, RAIN OF THUNDER, from a wide draw, was taken across behind runners. Near the 1000 Metres, GOLD RUSH was bumped and taken wider by LIBERATOR which at this time shifted away from the fence. M Chadwick (REDOUTE STAR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of ZEPHYRUS, causing that horse to be severely checked and in turn taken out onto GOLD RUSH which was also checked when crowded for room to the inside of COMPACT YARN which became unbalanced when bumped. M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 22 November 2010 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). This suspension shall commence on Monday, 15 November 2010 on which day he was due to resume race riding from a suspension incurred at the Happy Valley racemeeting on Sunday, 31 October 2010. Right on the finishing line, O Doleuze (WIN MORE) became badly unbalanced in the saddle. Throughout the race, KUNG HEI FAT CHOI travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight finished tailed out. The performance of KUNG HEI FAT CHOI was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KUNG HEI FAT CHOI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, B Prebble stated that it had been intended for SABINA to be ridden in a forward position. He said it was anticipated that from barrier 13 SABINA would be able to shift across and race outside of WIN MORE which he anticipated would lead the race. He said after being loaded, SABINA became very fractious and reared on a number of occasions. He said when the barriers opened, SABINA shifted out abruptly to the left hand side. He said when this happened and when he observed LIBERATOR being vigorously ridden to his inside, he elected to shift SABINA across behind runners and obtain cover on that horse rather than ride it along to obtain a forward position. A veterinary inspection of GOLD RUSH after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. A veterinary inspection of COMPACT YARN after the race did not show any significant findings. LIBERATOR and REDOUTE STAR were sent for sampling.
