E HONEY began only fairly.
XIANG LAN QI began only fairly and then was crowded for room between ORIENTAL AMIGO and ALLOY STAR which shifted out.
VECTOR shifted out at the start and bumped DESTINE JEWELLERY. After this, from a wide barrier, DESTINE JEWELLERY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, GOLDEN MISSION failed to muster speed.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, XIANG LAN QI was awkwardly placed inside the heels of VECTOR which shifted in before being directed back out to relieve the tightening to XIANG LAN QI.
Passing the 900 Metres, SUNNY SMILE and XIANG LAN QI raced tight.
At the entrance to the Straight, ALLOY STAR shifted out in an attempt to improve between GOLDEN MISSION and XIANG LAN QI which itself shifted out. This resulted in ALLOY STAR and GOLDEN MISSION bumping and ALLOY STAR being awkwardly placed behind XIANG LAN QI.
Passing the 300 Metres, VIVA CHEF momentarily raced in restricted room between VECTOR and FOX CHEUNGER which shifted out towards the heels of SUNNY AND GOLD. After this, FOX CHEUNGER (R Maia) was held up for clear running and near the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of SUNNY AND GOLD to obtain clear running. When being shifted out, VIVA CHEF was momentarily eased away from the heels of FOX CHEUNGER. R Maia was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Passing the 250 Metres, SUNNY SMILE and XIANG LAN QI bumped.
Passing the 150 Metres, ALLOY STAR was shifted to the inside of XIANG LAN QI when unable to improve between that horse and GOLDEN MISSION.
For the majority of the race, VECTOR travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of ALLOY STAR and SUNNY SMILE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FOX CHEUNGER, CIGAR BUDDIES and SUNNY AND GOLD were sent for sampling.
