AMARA WIN was withdrawn on 2.11.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right front tendon injury). Before being allowed to race again, AMARA WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRESENCE shifted out at the start and bumped ABLE REIGN. GREEN AEON was crowded for room on jumping between TURIN REDSTAR and MERCURIAL which shifted out. From the outside barrier, CHEERFUL DAYS was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. ROYAL PRIDE was also steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, ABLE REIGN was crowded for room between TURIN REDSTAR which got its head on the side and shifted in and PRESENCE which shifted out. Approaching the 1200 Metres, TOTAL POWER got its head on the side and lay out away from WEALTHY DELIGHT. Near the 1000 Metres, TOTAL POWER momentarily raced in restricted room between WEALTHY DELIGHT and TURIN REDSTAR. Near the 650 Metres, TOTAL POWER got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of WEALTHY DELIGHT which also shifted out. GREEN AEON got its head on the side and made the Home Turn very awkwardly. Near the 250 Metres, TURIN REDSTAR shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of WEALTHY DELIGHT, causing both horses to become unbalanced. TOTAL POWER got its head on the side and lay in passing the 100 Metres. Throughout the race, TURIN REDSTAR travelled wide and without cover. After the race, R Maia stated that ABLE REIGN came under heavy pressure after the 700 Metres and then weakened noticeably and, in his opinion, was not stretching out comfortably. A veterinary inspection of ABLE REIGN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ABLE REIGN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ABLE REIGN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, Z Purton, the rider of WEALTHY DELIGHT, was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of the horse. He said WEALTHY DELIGHT travelled very well in the early and middle stages and after the 700 Metres was able to shift away from the rail to follow PRESENCE. He said after enjoying a good run, he expected WEALTHY DELIGHT to finish off the race strongly, however, the horse came under heavy pressure prior to and rounding the Home Turn and then was very disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race in the Straight. He said after the race WEALTHY DELIGHT appeared to pull up well and therefore he was not able to offer any explanation for the horse’s failure to close off the race. A veterinary inspection of WEALTHY DELIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of WEALTHY DELIGHT, favourite for tonight’s race, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WEALTHY DELIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GREEN AEON and TURIN REDSTAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WEALTHY DELIGHT, CHEERFUL DAYS and PRESENCE were sent for sampling.
