OUR CREED began awkwardly.
JUDY’S STAR and ROMANTIC COMBO bumped on jumping.
NOTHING NEW began only fairly and then was ridden along in the early stages to obtain cover.
From the outside barriers, SUN OF MAKFI and MOONLUCK were steadied in the early stages to obtain the lead.
After the 1400 Metres, FORTUNE WINNER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NUNCHUKS.
After the 1300 Metres, ROMANTIC COMBO was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 1100 Metres, NOTHING NEW travelled keenly in the lead.
Near the 850 Metres, KING DRAGON shifted out away from the heels of AGILITY STAR and in doing so bumped SUN OF MAKFI. KING DRAGON (K C Leung) then shifted out further and again bumped SUN OF MAKFI which resulted in that horse becoming unbalanced and shifting in, causing KING DRAGON to be hampered when crowded for room outside AGILITY STAR. K C Leung was reprimanded and told to ensure that he does not place undue pressure on other runners in order to improve his position.
Approaching the 400 Metres, JUDY’S STAR shifted out away from the heels of KING DRAGON and bumped the hindquarters of GLORIOUS LOVER.
FAITHFUL TRINITY lay in under pressure in the Straight.
The performance of AGILITY STAR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AGILITY STAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MOONLUCK lost its right front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection of KING DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ROMANTIC COMBO and NOTHING NEW were sent for sampling.
