On arrival at the Start, C Y Ho expressed concern regarding the action of ALLEZ. ALLEZ was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that he could detect no significant abnormalities and after the necessary consultations ALLEZ was found to be suitable to race. SIGHT HERO shifted out at the start, resulting in ALLEZ being bumped and crowded for room inside HEROIC CHAMPION which became unbalanced after being bumped by ALLEZ. BINGO BINGO (Z Purton) began only fairly and then momentarily raced tight between A SMILE LIKE YOURS and KING’S TROOPER when being ridden along to obtain a forward position. Z Purton stated that after this he had to ride his mount along for some distance to obtain a forward position as instructed. He said after shifting across to race outside the lead after the 1000 Metres, BINGO BINGO, which was having its first race start tonight, travelled fairly, however, came under pressure rounding the Home Turn and then commenced to give ground after the 200 Metres. He added when giving ground, BINGO BINGO became unbalanced in its action and shifted ground on a number of occasions. He said he was not able to detect any soreness with BINGO BINGO and therefore could not ascertain whether the horse becoming unbalanced was as a result of weakening after doing too much work in the early stages or was not stretching out properly. A veterinary inspection of BINGO BINGO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, BINGO BINGO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. From wide barriers, CORDYCEPS TWO and SHOWINA were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. In the middle stages, PACKING CHAMPION travelled keenly in the lead. CORDYCEPS TWO made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly and shifted out across the heels of SHOWINA, resulting in CORDYCEPS TWO losing ground. Throughout the race, FORTUNE HERO travelled wide and without cover and commenced to give ground after the 500 Metres. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Approaching the 400 Metres, KING’S TROOPER was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of HONEST WAY and then made the Home Turn awkwardly. At the 300 Metres, A SMILE LIKE YOURS was shifted out across the heels of SIGHT HERO to obtain clear running. SIGHT HERO, A SMILE LIKE YOURS and SHOWINA were sent for sampling.
