BOY OH BOY, ROCK THE TREE and D’OR WONGCHOY were all crowded for room at the start between SUPREME FALCON and SUPREME FRESH which shifted out. KEEN TACTICS began only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of SUPREME FALCON when taken in by VICTORY HERO. After this, KEEN TACTICS was taken across behind runners. LOVING STAR was slow to begin. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of VICTORY HERO, T Angland stated that, from barrier 12, he was left racing in a three wide position without cover for the majority of the race. He said VICTORY HERO travelled only fairly and in the Straight finished off the race one-paced. He said although the circumstances of the race were against VICTORY HERO, nonetheless the horse gave him the feel as though it would appreciate a step-up in distance in its future starts. A veterinary inspection of VICTORY HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, B Prebble stated that after becoming momentarily unbalanced rounding the Home Turn, SUPREME FALCON was disappointing in the Straight in that it did not close off the race despite being placed under pressure. A veterinary inspection of SUPREME FALCON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. AMBITIOUS CHAMPION and BOY OH BOY were sent for sampling.
