As the start was effected, BRILLIANT WORLD reared and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, BRILLIANT WORLD will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. PERI PERI SAFFRON began awkwardly. For some distance after the 700 Metres, LONGWAH KID got its head up when over-racing and awkwardly placed close to the heels of STAR OF FAME. When being steadied away from the heels of STAR OF FAME, LONGWAH KID shifted out and bumped JOLLY GOOD CHAMP near the 650 Metres. STAR OF FAME hung out rounding the Home Turn. KIDCONI had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. At the 200 Metres, PERI PERI SAFFRON shifted out and bumped GLORY WIN. Throughout the race, NEW ASIA RISING travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of REGAL ARMY and BRILLIANT WORLD after the race did not show any significant findings. CAN DO and PERI PERI SAFFRON were sent for sampling.
