After being loaded, WIND CHARGER became fractious in the barriers, reared and momentarily got its left front leg over the adjacent stall. WIND CHARGER was removed from the stalls and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. WIND CHARGER and HAPPY HOMING, which was also fractious in the barriers, will both be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. WINNING BEAR and SUNSHINE BOY were slow to begin. After beginning awkwardly, CHINA ANGEL was taken across behind runners soon after the start. From the outside barrier, INTELLECTUALSTRIDE was taken across behind runners soon after the start. At the 500 Metres, DANEWIN TIGER momentarily got its head up and shifted out, hampering ALL BOUNTIFUL. At the entrance to the Straight, when attempting a narrow run between ALL BOUNTIFUL and DANEWIN TIGER, ALL FRIENDS became unbalanced and made contact with ALL BOUNTIFUL on a number of occasions due to DANEWIN TIGER shifting out slightly. INTELLECTUALSTRIDE, which was making ground at this point, was steadied away from the heels of ALL BOUNTIFUL for some distance after the 350 Metres. Near the 150 Metres, HAPPY GOAL, which was tiring, was steadied away from the heels of SUNSHINE BOY due to both horses shifting ground. Close to the finishing line, W C Marwing, the rider of the 5th placegetter, INTELLECTUALSTRIDE, was obliged to stop riding due to his mount being awkwardly placed inside the heels of HOW SPEEDY which shifted in under pressure. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ALL BOUNTIFUL, D Whyte stated that after being obliged to race three wide and without cover throughout the race, ALL BOUNTIFUL became unbalanced rounding the Home Turn after being bumped initially by DANEWIN TIGER and also soon after straightening by ALL FRIENDS. He said as a consequence ALL BOUNTIFUL tended to race greenly when placed under pressure and did not respond to his riding. He added that he would recommend to the connections they consider stepping the horse up in distance where it may be able to travel comfortably and finish off its race. A veterinary inspection of ALL BOUNTIFUL after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on UNDOUBTEDLY MINE at the request of Trainer P O’Sullivan. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, UNDOUBTEDLY MINE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ALL BOUNTIFUL, DANEWIN TIGER and CHINA ANGEL were sent for sampling.
