CIRCUIT SEVEN, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 10.5.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity). Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT SEVEN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Mr P F Yiu, trainer of LESLIE, was fined the sum of $3,000 for presenting the horse in the Parade Ring without a parade hood, part of that horse’s declared gear.
Just prior to the start being effected, KOWLOON EAST STAR lunged at the front gates, resulting in the horse beginning very awkwardly. After this, despite being ridden along, KOWLOON EAST STAR was slow to muster speed. Before being allowed to race again, KOWLOON EAST STAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
DIAMOND SOARS shifted out abruptly at the start despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in SUPER COMMANDER losing ground when badly crowded for room inside JUMBO LEGEND which was also hampered after becoming unbalanced as a result of being bumped by SUPER COMMANDER. PRETTY QUEEN PRAWN, which was drawn outside JUMBO LEGEND, was inconvenienced when that horse shifted out.
From wide barriers, VAMOS and LESLIE were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
JUMBO LEGEND was held up for clear running from passing the 200 Metres until after the 150 Metres. Then close to the finishing line, JUMBO LEGEND was awkwardly placed inside the heels of VIVA MAMA. Because of this, JUMBO LEGEND was not able to be fully ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
After the 150 Metres, LESLIE was held up when awkwardly placed behind DIAMOND SOARS. LESLIE then improved into tight running between DIAMOND SOARS and SUPER COMMANDER passing the 100 Metres.
Throughout the race, SERGEANT PEPPER travelled wide and without cover.
GORGEOUS VITALITY and VIVA MAMA were sent for sampling.
