NEVER TOO SOON was withdrawn on raceday afternoon by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, NEVER TOO SOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MAGIC SUPREME shifted out on jumping, resulting in SCIENCE PATCH being bumped and taken out onto PROUD DRAGON which was hampered. STREET SCREAM shifted out at the start and bumped DECISIVE TWELVE. DECISIVE TWELVE and ROMAN TURBO then bumped a short distance after the start as ROMAN TURBO raced tight inside SPARKLING DRAGON. SPARKLING DRAGON was then steadied to obtain cover. STORMTROUPER was steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail. A short distance after the start, EQUALETTA BLITZ was steadied to obtain cover when racing wide. When being steadied, EQUALETTA BLITZ got its head up passing the 1100 Metres and travelled keenly. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, SEIZING THE MOMENT failed to muster speed and was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. ROMAN TURBO made the turn after the 1000 Metres awkwardly and throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. MAGIC SUPREME travelled keenly in the lead in the middle stages. SPARKLING DRAGON was held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight. Near the 150 Metres, STORMTROUPER was steadied away from the heels of STREET SCREAM which was shifted out away from the heels of DECISIVE TWELVE (K H Chan) which shifted out under pressure. K H Chan was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. STORMTROUPER then had difficulty obtaining clear running and over the final 50 Metres was unable to obtain clear running between STREET SCREAM and BE READY which shifted in. Because of this, STORMTROUPER was not able to be properly tested over the latter stages. Near the 125 Metres, the whip of J Moreira (SEIZING THE MOMENT) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of C Y Ho (BE READY). Passing the 100 Metres, EQUALETTA BLITZ was shifted in away from the heels of DECISIVE TWELVE. After the race, A Badel (PROUD DRAGON) reported that the horse was never comfortable on tonight’s track and then in the Straight did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection of PROUD DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of ROMAN TURBO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SEIZING THE MOMENT and BE READY were sent for sampling.
