REGENCY MASTER was slow to begin.
ELIGERE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped HK DRAGON. After this, ELIGERE and HK DRAGON were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
AMAZING NEWS shifted in at the start and bumped BABY.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, V CHEVALIERS was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 1000 Metres, NIMBLE NIMBUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FAITHFUL TRINITY.
Passing the 900 Metres, AMAZING NEWS was awkwardly placed behind BABY.
Near the 450 Metres, NIMBLE NIMBUS shifted out when racing close to the heels of SIXTH GENERATION as that horse commenced to give ground and bumped the hindquarters of FAITHFUL TRINITY, resulting in both NIMBLE NIMBUS and FAITHFUL TRINITY becoming unbalanced.
Approaching the 450 Metres, AMAZING NEWS was shifted in away from the heels of BABY after being awkwardly placed behind that horse.
Over the concluding stages, HAPPY JAI JAI raced tight inside AMAZING NEWS which shifted in under pressure.
When questioned, Z Purton (HK DRAGON) stated that after racing in a three wide position with cover behind V CHEVALIERS for the majority of the race, he commenced to improve his position around that horse near the 500 Metres. He said HK DRAGON quickened satisfactorily rounding the Home Turn, however, at the entrance to the Straight its run ended and the horse then commenced to give ground. He said when HK DRAGON commenced to give ground, he noted that the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise. A veterinary inspection of HK DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, it was reported that ELIGERE had bled from both nostrils.
A veterinary inspection of SIXTH GENERATION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
NIMBLE NIMBUS and AMAZING NEWS were sent for sampling.
