SECRET VISION began only fairly. SECRET VISION was then shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail. CLASSIC MOON shifted out at the start and bumped NICCONI COUNTY. BEAUTY MISSION shifted in on jumping and inconvenienced SETANTA. ACE ONE was steadied away from the heels of KUMASI which shifted in as the gates opened. Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, TRUST ME was slow to muster speed. After initially being steadied from the outside barrier, PINS PRINCE was left racing wide and without cover in the early stages and after the 900 Metres was allowed to improve its position, however, continued to race wide and without cover. Approaching the 700 Metres, READY TO WIN was inconvenienced by NICCONI COUNTY which shifted out marginally when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CALIFORNIA CONCORD. TEXAS MOON, which was following NICCONI COUNTY, was inconvenienced in consequence. Approaching the 300 Metres, SECRET VISION was bumped by ACE ONE which was taken out by TRUST ME. Approaching the 200 Metres, READY TO WIN was reluctant to shift to the outside of BEAUTY MISSION, resulting in READY TO WIN being awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse which passing the 200 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out. Then approaching the 100 Metres, READY TO WIN shifted out and inconvenienced PINS PRINCE. After the race, K Teetan was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of NICCONI COUNTY. He said NICCONI COUNTY travelled well in the early and middle stages and after shifting to the outside of CALIFORNIA CONCORD rounding the Home Turn, he placed the horse under pressure, however, it did not quicken as he anticipated. He said NICCONI COUNTY was then disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish the race off over the latter stages. A veterinary inspection of NICCONI COUNTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of TEXAS MOON and CLASSIC MOON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY MISSION, REVE PARISIEN and SOLID IMPACT were sent for sampling.
