When proceeding into the Parade Ring, LITTLE BIRD bumped a gate. LITTLE BIRD was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
On jumping, NAVAS and BUOYANT BOY were crowded for room between SUPER LEADER and GOLDEN SUN, both of which shifted ground.
From a wide barrier, BEAUTY TIME was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 100 Metres, NAVAS was shifted to the inside of TOP SCORE after being disappointed for running between BUOYANT BOY and TOP SCORE which shifted out under pressure. Then over the concluding stages, NAVAS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of TOP SCORE (M L Yeung) which shifted back in under pressure. As a consequence, NAVAS could not be ridden all the way to the end of the race. M L Yeung was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make more effort to keep his mounts straight.
Over the final 100 Metres, SUPER LEADER hung in under pressure and proved difficult to ride.
Throughout the race, BUOYANT BOY travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of BUOYANT BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
COUNTRY STAR and LITTLE BIRD were sent for sampling.
