Whilst in the saddling stalls, WEALTHY FORTUNE had its left front plate refitted. WEALTHY FORTUNE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. KA YING KID, which began awkwardly, was crowded for room at the start between TOUR DE FORCE and CHOICE TREASURE which was taken out by TALLEY CLOSE. After this, KA YING KID and CHOICE TREASURE were taken across behind runners. BULLISH FRIEND began very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped FIONN’S TREASURE which became badly unbalanced. From the outside barrier, HARD BALL GET was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1000 Metres, SICHUAN VIGOUR proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of SMART VOLATILITY. SICHUAN VIGOUR continued to prove very difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SMART VOLATILITY for some distance. After the 800 Metres, CHOICE TREASURE shifted out abruptly away from the heels of WEALTHY FORTUNE, resulting in KA YING KID and HARD BALL GET, which was laying out, being taken wider. Near the 700 Metres, SUPREME FALCON was checked away from the heels of SICHUAN VIGOUR and in doing so shifted in, resulting in NICE FOLKS being momentarily crowded for room and being taken in onto WEALTHY FORTUNE which was crowded for room. TOUR DE FORCE raced wide and without cover until near the 600 Metres. Close to the line, NICE FOLKS was shifted in away from the heels of LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT. Throughout the race, SMART VOLATILITY and TALLEY CLOSE travelled wide and without cover. SMART VOLATILITY and FIONN’S TREASURE were sent for sampling.
