REALLY THE BEST proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, REALLY THE BEST will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. As the start was effected, REALLY THE BEST lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently began only fairly. From the outside barrier, LUCKY ARMY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, BAMBOO DANCE raced in restricted room between MEGA POSH and FIRST CLASS, both of which shifted ground. In the early stages, when being steadied to obtain a position with cover, FIRST CLASS proved difficult to settle. When being steadied to obtain a position with cover approaching and passing the 1400 Metres, CASA JUNIOR proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. After the 1000 Metres, CASA JUNIOR was left racing wide and without cover. SPARKLING had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 300 Metres, METREVELLI was shifted out away from the heels of CASA JUNIOR which was commencing to give ground. Passing the 100 Metres, NICKU was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FLYING KEEPER. Approaching the 50 Metres, LUCKY ARMY was briefly crowded for room between MEGA POSH and BAMBOO DANCE, both of which shifted ground. A veterinary inspection of NICKU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BAMBOO DANCE, REALLY THE BEST and FERRABOSCO were sent for sampling.
