THE FAST LANE proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, THE FAST LANE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After being loaded, AMBASSADORSHIP became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, AMBASSADORSHIP will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. BOSAMBO was slow to begin. M Chadwick (ROCKET PROUD) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of LUCKY CHEVALIER, causing that horse to be taken across the rightful running of ABLE MAGIC which was checked and lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled. M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday, 11 November 2012 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 4 November 2012. Making the first turn, ABLE MAGIC got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in BOSAMBO being awkwardly placed inside the heels of AMBASSADORSHIP. Rounding the Home Turn, COOL BEAN and BACKSTREET FIGHTER bumped. When questioned, B Prebble stated that he was able to obtain a more forward position on APPROVE as the horse began better than it did at its first start. He said making the first turn he was able to obtain a position three wide with cover outside COOL BEAN. He said after the 700 Metres APPROVE came off the bridle and he had to ride the horse along including using the whip on it after the 600 Metres to have it maintain its position. He said rounding the Home Turn APPROVE became unbalanced and lost its action when bumped by ABLE MAGIC which shifted out. He said after rebalancing APPROVE, he continued to ride it along in an attempt to have it finish off the race. He added in the Straight APPROVE got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure and as he had been using the whip on the horse since the 600 Metres, he put the whip away after the 200 Metres and continued to ride it out hands and heels to the finish as APPROVE was not responding when being vigorously ridden. He said in the run to the line APPROVE finished off the race one-paced. He said, in his opinion, APPROVE raced greenly throughout the race and requires further racing to assist in the horse’s maturity. A veterinary inspection of APPROVE after the race did not show any significant findings. JOLLY VICTOR and FULGURITE were sent for sampling.
