HI MOLLY and WINDICATOR STAR were slow to begin. Over the final 200 Metres, WINDICATOR STAR got its head on the side and hung in under pressure. Apprentice C Y Ho (CASTLE HERO) reported that his saddle shifted back slightly after the 300 Metres, causing him some minor inconvenience. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ZEZAO, D Whyte stated that his mount was never on the bridle in today’s race and did not travel as it had previously. He said although ZEZAO had previously been successful over the course and distance, that was in a lower class than today’s race and, in his opinion, the horse may not be suited to the manner in which such races are run in this class. A veterinary inspection of ZEZAO after the race did not show any significant findings. ZEZAO, DANE PATROL and CASTLE HERO were sent for sampling.
