SOUNDS EXCELLENT was slow to begin. PERI PERI SAFFRON was crowded for room at the start between HAPPY HA HA which shifted out and YOU KNOW I WIN which was taken in by NEW GREENFIELD. After this, PERI PERI SAFFRON was taken across behind runners. After the 1200 Metres, FRESH AIR got its head up on a number of occasions and proved difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MIGHTY K. Also after the 1200 Metres, DEEP THINKER proved very difficult to settle and got its head up repeatedly when being steadied to obtain cover behind MIGHTY K. Rounding the Home Turn, WINNING BOY was shifted to the inside of the heels of DEEP THINKER which shifted out abruptly after getting its head up when being shifted to the outside of NEW GREENFIELD. After this, WINNING BOY had difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 400 Metres at which point the horse was shifted to the inside of FRESH AIR to improve. In the Straight, CIRCUIT STAR got its head on the side and hung in under pressure. The performance of NEW GREENFIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NEW GREENFIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MIGHTY K, FOREVER ELATION and GENE POWER were sent for sampling.
