TRAVEL KING was slow to begin. FAST INTENTIONS was heavily bumped by GOOD JOB on jumping and a short distance later was crowded for room between GOOD JOB and PLANET which shifted in after being bumped by LINKED WIN. From the outside barrier, MARVEL PLUS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 650 Metres, PLANET commenced to over-race and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOOD JOB. Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, THANKSGIVING had difficulty obtaining clear running. In the Straight, MAGIC FIGHTER was not able to obtain clear running until passing the 250 Metres. Throughout the race, HOT PEPPER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. HEY HA MASTER also travelled well and without cover throughout the race. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on TRAVEL KING at the request of Trainer D Cruz. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on MARVEL PLUS at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MARVEL PLUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of PLANET after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of HOT PEPPER after the race revealed that the horse had sustained a wound to the left hock. Before being allowed to race again, HOT PEPPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GORGEOUS LIFE, BROTHERS IN ARMS and HERO’S WIN were sent for sampling.
