VIVA GUY began awkwardly. FASTPLUS MASTER was crowded for room at the start between BUMPER STRIKE and BAITIWU, both of which shifted ground. From wide barriers, SPEEDY WARRIOR and SADDLERS LODGE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1200 Metres, MINGS’ HERO was steadied away from the heels of GOOD LOOKING WATCH which shifted in. At the entrance to the Straight, Y T Cheng (SPEEDY WARRIOR) dropped his whip. At the 200 Metres, SADDLERS LODGE was struck across the nose by the whip of T Clark (JOLLY WONGCHOY). A veterinary inspection of BAITIWU after the race revealed that horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, BAITIWU will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SNITZEL KID, HAPPY SEVEN and VIVA GUY were sent for sampling.
