MOONWALK was withdrawn on 18.10.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter OPEN SESAME (Apprentice T H So). PEGASUS SUPREME was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (injury to left hind limb). CHATER D’CAT was also withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right knee). Before being allowed to race again, MOONWALK, PEGASUS SUPREME and CHATER D’CAT will all be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SHIFACHI TRADITION was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, OPEN SESAME raced in restricted room between BEAUTY SUCCESS and JOLLY GOOD. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, EURO SWIFTLY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JIMSON THE BEST. At the 1200 Metres, OPEN SESAME was checked away from the heels of JOLLY GOOD after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse for some distance. In this incident, OPEN SESAME struck the heels of JOLLY GOOD which became unbalanced. After this, OPEN SESAME got its head up and proved difficult to settle. EURO SWIFTLY, which was following OPEN SESAME, was checked away from the heels of that horse in this incident and in doing so shifted out, resulting in BLESSING becoming unbalanced when bumped and taken wider. When BLESSING was taken wider, it shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of VIGOR DELIGHT which became unbalanced, got its head up and shifted wider. After this, VIGOR DELIGHT continued to travel wide and without cover. Rounding the Home Turn, VIGOR DELIGHT and BEAUTY SUCCESS bumped as BEAUTY SUCCESS shifted to the outside of BET ON ME into clear running. In this incident, BEAUTY SUCCESS turned its head to the left and attempted to savage VIGOR DELIGHT. As this was the first occasion on which BEAUTY SUCCESS had come to notice in this respect, its actions were brought to the attention of Trainer A S Cruz who was advised that a warning would be placed upon BEAUTY SUCCESS. Approaching the 200 Metres, VIGOR DELIGHT got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in JIMSON THE BEST being taken wider. Over the final 200 Metres, SHIFACHI TRADITION had difficulty obtaining clear running. A veterinary inspection of JOLLY GOOD after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its left hind plate. OPEN SESAME, EURO SWIFTLY and JIMSON THE BEST were sent for sampling.
