After being loaded, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY became fractious and reared. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Also after being loaded, WASABISABI attempted to sit down. Before being allowed to race again, WASABISABI will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. KINGSTON SAMBA was slow to begin. After the 1000 Metres, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY proved very difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAGIC FIGHTER. For some distance after the 1000 Metres, FLASHING GUY got its head up and proved very difficult to settle when being checked away from the heels of STAR LEGEND. HOT ASSET, which was racing to the outside of FLASHING GUY, was hampered in consequence. At the 800 Metres, when crossed by HARSH BROWN, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY got its head on the side and shifted out. After the 700 Metres, MAGIC FIGHTER was left racing wide and without cover. In the early part of the Straight, HARSH BROWN got its head on the side and lay in. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of WASABISABI, D Beadman stated that the horse, after being very fractious in the barriers, missed the start. He said WASABISABI travelled satisfactorily in the run, however, when placed under pressure in the Straight did not respond to his riding and was disappointing in its failure to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of WASABISABI after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of KINGSTON SAMBA after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of KINGSTON SAMBA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KINGSTON SAMBA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTIFUL SCENERY after the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY FOREVER, HINYUEN PALADIN and MY MEMORY were sent for sampling.
