BEST FRIEND was checked at the start when crowded for room between ABLE SPEED and DRAGON FIGHTER which began awkwardly and shifted out. After this, BEST FRIEND and ABLE SPEED were taken across behind runners. For the majority of the race, DRAGON FIGHTER travelled wide and without cover and passing the 1200 Metres got its head up and proved very difficult to settle. After the 1000 Metres, ALMIGHTY WINDPOWER raced keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EUPHEMISM. Passing the 800 Metres, ALMIGHTY WINDPOWER was crowded for room between BULLISH CASH and BEAUTY FOREVER which got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of EUPHEMISM when awkwardly placed behind HAPPY PRESTIGE. HAPPY BOY, which was following BEAUTY FOREVER, was steadied in consequence. After the race, Apprentice C Y Ho (HANDSOME ZULU) reported that his saddle shifted back in the early part of the Straight, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. OUTDOOR PEGASUS and HAPPY BOY were sent for sampling.
