WAKA WAKA was withdrawn on 17.4.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front tendon injury). Before being allowed to race again, WAKA WAKA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SEIZING THE MOMENT jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From a wide barrier, NORDIC DRAGON was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages. BRAVE STAR raced keenly in the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance of ALLGREEKTOME, Z Purton stated that his mount travelled comfortably in the early and middle stages even when pressured in the middle stages by SAKEWIN. He said in the early part of the Straight ALLGREEKTOME improved well into the event, but when asked for full effort near the 250 Metres failed to respond and, in his opinion, may not have appreciated tonight’s surface. A veterinary inspection of ALLGREEKTOME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ALLGREEKTOME, favourite for tonight’s race, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ALLGREEKTOME will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SAKEWIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ALLGREEKTOME, NORDIC DRAGON and BRAVE STAR were sent for sampling.
