BEATO jumped only fairly and was then bumped by VALIANT ELEGANCE which shifted out.
ENNEA FORTUNE was crowded on jumping between PULSAR STRIDER and NABOO LEGEND, both of which shifted ground.
On jumping, VICTORY MOMENTS was crowded by GOLDEN EXPRESS which shifted out.
EURO ROCKS jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barriers, NICCONI COUNTY and DESERT STAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1000 Metres, PULSAR STRIDER was steadied when crowded between GOLDEN EXPRESS which was racing tight to the inside of O’LINER (A Hamelin) and NABOO LEGEND which shifted out slightly. A Hamelin was advised to exercise more care.
When questioned regarding his riding of ENNEA FORTUNE in the Straight, A Badel stated that when under pressure, his mount responded only fairly to his riding. He said for this reason he was content to allow ENNEA FORTUNE to continue to improve along the rail whereby it made some ground in the early part of the Straight. He added that inside the 200 Metres when positioned well behind VALIANT ELEGANCE, he was content to continue to improve behind that runner and to the inside of BEATO, however, when VALIANT ELEGANCE stopped quickly, this resulted in ENNEA FORTUNE becoming held up behind VALIANT ELEGANCE and to the inside of BEATO and the not being able to be ridden out for the remainder of the race.
A veterinary inspection of O’LINER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLDEN EXPRESS and GOLDEN LINK were sent for sampling.
