SPEEDY MOUSE and EUROMISSILE were slow to begin. WIND SPEEDER and FALCON TURBO began awkwardly. In the early and middle stages, HARMONY N BLESSED lay in and was reluctant to shift over towards the outside rail. HARMONY N BLESSED then continued to lay in under pressure and at times proved difficult to ride. A veterinary inspection of HARMONY N BLESSED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SPEEDY MOUSE lay out under pressure after the 300 Metres and passing the 50 Metres was directed in away from the heels of WHEN YOU BELIEVE to continue improving. Over the concluding stages, BRILLIANT FORTUNE shifted in under pressure. When questioned, K C Leung stated that shortly after the start FABULOUS EIGHT commenced to buck and became badly unbalanced in its action for a short distance. He said when he had previously ridden the horse, it had not shown this trait and had always raced tractably. He said the only explanation for the horse’s racing manners at this time was that it may not have appreciated wearing sheepskin cheek pieces for the first time, however, the horse after this raced tractably for the remainder of the race. A veterinary inspection of FABULOUS EIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, FABULOUS EIGHT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial carrying a raceday saddle. When FABULOUS EIGHT became unbalanced, TAKING AIM, which was following, was checked away from the heels of that horse and CIRCUIT SIX was also inconvenienced. HARMONY N BLESSED, VALIANT DREAM and BRILLIANT FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
