HONGKONG GREAT, which proved difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. BEAR SLAM reared as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin. From the outside barriers, GIFT OF LIFELINE and PARTY EVERYDAY were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. HIGH REV was also steadied to obtain cover shortly after the start. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SMILING CITY commenced to travel keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover. SMILING CITY continued to travel keenly and after the 1300 Metres again got its head up on a number of occasions and lay out. This resulted in SMILING CITY racing wide and without cover for the majority of the race. Making the turn near the 700 Metres, JOLLY HONOUR became unbalanced after being bumped by SKYEY SUPREME when unable to improve between that horse and STAR OF YUEN LONG. BEAR SLAM, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. Also making the turn near the 700 Metres, PARTY EVERYDAY and HIGH REV bumped. M Chadwick (PARTY EVERYDAY) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he directed his mount out across the heels of BEAR SLAM when not clear of HIGH REV, resulting in HIGH REV being checked and losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled. M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Monday, 5 April 2021 and to expire on Friday, 9 April 2021 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Jockey Chadwick was fined $45,000. Passing the 100 Metres, ELITE PATCH shifted out abruptly, requiring its rider to stop riding and correct his mount. A veterinary inspection of BEAR SLAM, SMILING CITY and SKYEY SUPREME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HONGKONG GREAT and STAR OF YUEN LONG were sent for sampling.
