SUNSHINE HOLIDAY began awkwardly, shifted in and had to be checked away from the heels of VIVA COUNCIL. BINGO HERO shifted out at the start and bumped FULL OF CHANCES. BINGO HERO was then crowded for room shortly after the start between PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT which shifted out and PICKEN which shifted in after bumping with HARD BALL GET. In this incident, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT lost its left front plate. Despite being hard ridden for a considerable distance in the early stages, CARE FREE PRINCE was slow to muster speed and subsequently travelled very wide and without cover throughout the race. Near the 850 Metres, APPLAUSE was steadied away from the heels of PICKEN (J Moreira) which shifted in when racing close to the heels of HARD BALL GET. SHINING ON and PAKISTAN BABY, which were following, were awkwardly placed in consequence. J Moreira was advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. Approaching the 600 Metres, BINGO HERO got its head on the side, shifted out abruptly and had to be checked away from the heels of PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT. Rounding the Home Turn, HARD BALL GET raced tight outside RED HORSE which shifted out to obtain clear running. AVELLINO lost its right front plate near the 450 Metres. Passing the 400 Metres, ENJOY LIFE had some difficulty obtaining clear running. Also passing the 400 Metres, APPLAUSE momentarily raced in restricted room between HARD BALL GET and SUNSHINE HOLIDAY. Approaching the 300 Metres, SUNSHINE HOLIDAY was shifted to the outside of PICKEN to obtain clear running. SUNSHINE HOLIDAY was then awkwardly placed outside the heels of PICKEN near the 150 Metres. Close to the finishing line, FULL OF CHANCES was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RED HORSE. The performance of HARD BALL GET, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HARD BALL GET will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SHINING ON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ENJOY LIFE, VIVA COUNCIL and RED HORSE were sent for sampling.
