TURIN PEARL blundered badly at the start. As the start was effected, LUCKY HAMMER lifted its front feet off the ground and then a short distance later was bumped by ELECTRONIC PHOENIX which shifted out. Despite being ridden along, LUCKY HAMMER was then slow to muster speed and making the turn near the 1500 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SILLY BUDDIES. From a wide barrier, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 1200 Metres, SILVERFIELD was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 1100 Metres, LUCKY HAMMER was checked away from the heels of SILLY BUDDIES which was steadied to allow DEJA VU to cross. ELECTRONIC PHOENIX, which was following LUCKY HAMMER, was hampered in consequence. Also passing the 1100 Metres, POSITIVE FORCE commenced to prove very difficult to settle and had to be checked away from the heels of GOLDEN SLEEP. Approaching the 1000 Metres, GOLDEN SLEEP commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of GOAL FOR GOLD. After the 800 Metres, SILLY BUDDIES came under pressure and drifted back in the field. LUCKY HAMMER, which was following, was taken back through the field as a consequence. Making the turn near the 700 Metres, MAJESTIC ANTHEM was momentarily crowded for room between GOAL FOR GOLD and DEJA VU, both of which shifted slight ground. Passing the 600 Metres, VANILLA got its head on the side and hung out. For some distance in the early part of the Straight, MAJESTIC ANTHEM had to be checked away from the heels of SILVERFIELD. BISHOP’S LEAP, which was following, was held up for clear running in consequence. When questioned, U Rispoli (IMPERIAL GALLANTRY) said at no stage of the race did his mount travel comfortably. He said initially he felt the horse may not have been handling the kickback, however, despite being aggressively ridden throughout, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY would not improve its position and in the Straight did not close off the race to finish at the rear of the field. A veterinary inspection IMPERIAL GALLANTRY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of IMPERIAL GALLANTRY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of POSITIVE FORCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of POSITIVE FORCE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, POSITIVE FORCE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ELECTRONIC PHOENIX, TURIN PEARL and MAJESTIC ANTHEM were sent for sampling. <3/11/2016 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that BISHOP’S LEAP was lame in its right front leg with a tendon injury on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, BISHOP’S LEAP will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
