When LUCKY PLACE initially proved reluctant to enter the All Weather Track, O Doleuze dismounted from that horse. JIMSON THE FAMOUS shifted in at the start and bumped AMBITIOUS SPEEDY. EQUITY DOCTRINE (N Rawiller) shifted out at the start, resulting in HAPPY FRIENDSHIP bring checked when taken out across the heels of FRESH AND FRESH. The Stewards were satisfied that N Rawiller had made sufficient endeavour to correct his mount. SAFARI MAGIC began only fairly. NOVEL START stumbled on jumping and after this was shifted across behind runners. When being steadied to obtain a position with cover from a wide barrier, FLYING MACHINE got its head up on a number of occasions. After the 1300 Metres, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY was left racing wide and without cover. EQUITY DOCTRINE was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. After being held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight, when improving between JIMSON THE FAMOUS and FRIENDS FOREVER, EQUITY DOCTRINE shifted out abruptly approaching the 100 Metres when being ridden along. N Rawiller then stopped riding EQUITY DOCTRINE with the whip and attempted to straighten the horse. As the Stewards were of the opinion that EQUITY DOCTRINE had shifted out too abruptly for N Rawiller to have made any better attempt to straighten his mount, no further action was taken, however, N Rawiller was cautioned against using the whip on his mounts in rapid succession as he did on this occasion just prior to EQUITY DOCTRINE shifting out abruptly. Approaching the 300 Metres, NOVEL START was momentarily held up for clear running. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY PLACE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FLYING MACHINE and EQUITY DOCTRINE were sent for sampling.
