OUR FOLKS blundered badly at the start and then was checked when crowded for room between CIRCUIT KING and SUPER MAN which shifted out. HARBOUR NOVA was crowded for room on jumping between DISCIPLES TWELVE and GRAND PLUS which was hampered when taken out by CIRCUIT KING. In this incident, DISCIPLES TWELVE became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by HARBOUR NOVA. Passing the 700 Metres, DISCIPLES TWELVE, which was reluctant to improve into tight running inside OUR FOLKS, was checked when crowded for room by OUR FOLKS which got its head on the side and shifted in away from HARBOUR NOVA despite the efforts of its rider. As the Stewards were satisfied that there was no carelessness involved in this incident, no further action was taken. Rounding the Home Turn, STAR OF YAN OI was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STARTLING POWER and then after being shifted out away behind that horse raced tight inside BOLD STITCH. At the entrance to the Straight, GRAND PLUS and CHARITY GLORY bumped. Throughout the race, GREEN CARD travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. After the race, J Moreira expressed concern regarding the racing manners of GRAND PLUS as the horse shifted ground on a number of occasions and was difficult to manage. A veterinary inspection of GRAND PLUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was very fractious during the examination. A veterinary inspection of GREEN CARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER MAN and STAR OF YAN OI were sent for sampling.
