13 HARBOUR VICTORY C Y Ho W Y So 8 114 43 --

Steward Report Predict Pace Map
When being mounted in the Parade Ring, HARBOUR VICTORY became very fractious, reared and fell over, resulting in C Y Ho being dislodged and sustaining an injury to his right leg. Acting on veterinary advice that HARBOUR VICTORY was not suitable to race, that horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. C Y Ho was transported to hospital and consequently was unable to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. HARBOUR VICTORY will be required to undergo a satisfactory parade test prior to its next race start and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TRAVEL AMBASSADOR began very awkwardly, got its head up and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, TRAVEL AMBASSADOR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. FIONN’S CITY began only fairly. MASSIVE MOVE and ART OF SUCCESS bumped at the start. After this, ART OF SUCCESS got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in PERPETUAL JOYANCE being inconvenienced. Passing the 500 Metres, UNIQUE JOYFUL shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of DIAMOND BIT which became unbalanced and then lay out, resulting in UNIQUE JOYFUL being hampered. Approaching the 300 Metres, PEACE COMBINATION was crowded for room outside BEAUTY MASTER which, after initially being taken out marginally by MASSIVE MOVE, then got its head on the side and shifted out away from that horse. Passing the 300 Metres, WINNING TALENT was crowded for room between DIAMOND BIT and FIONN’S CITY which shifted out. FIONN’S CITY was then shifted in abruptly to relieve the tightening to WINNING TALENT. C P POWER was unable obtain clear running over the final 100 Metres and consequently was not able to be properly tested. When questioned, D Whyte stated that just prior to the start being effected MR POTENTIAL turned its head to the left which resulted in the horse being slow to begin. He said he rode MR POTENTIAL along in the early stages to make up lost ground, however, the horse was reluctant to stretch out and gave him the impression that it did not appreciate the kickback. He said he was reluctant to shift MR POTENTIAL away from the outside rail towards the middle of the track despite the kickback so as to take advantage of the outside barrier draw. He added, despite being ridden along in the early and middle stages, MR POTENTIAL did not improve its position and it was only over the latter stages of the race that the horse made some ground to get closer to the main body of the field. A veterinary inspection of MR POTENTIAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SIGHT SEEING had sustained a cut into the right hind leg. BEAUTY MASTER and ART OF SUCCESS were sent for sampling.
