GOLD TARTINI began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of JACKPOT MASCOT. Shortly after the start, JACKPOT MASCOT and GOLD TARTINI were hampered when FIERY PATROL was taken out by ALL MY KINGDOMS. From the outside barriers, POSITIVE ENERGY and TIPPERARY DAVOR were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, SUISSE D’OR was slow to muster speed and travelled wide and without cover before being allowed to stride forward into the lead after the 1100 Metres. Near the 1000 Metres, BUDDY WATSON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALL MY KINGDOMS. Making the turn prior to the 700 Metres, CRUISE CONTROL and PRINCE OF SUNSHINE raced tight due to CRUISE CONTROL shifting out from behind ALL MY KINGDOMS. Rounding the Home Turn, MONEY WIN WINS and PRINCE OF SUNSHINE raced tight. MONEY WIN WINS had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. T Angland (MONEY WIN WINS) was fined $5,000 for weighing in after the race 2 lbs overweight. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ALL MY KINGDOMS, K C Leung stated that his mount worked well in the lead up to today’s race and a forward showing was expected. He said ALL MY KINGDOMS travelled well in the early and middle stages, however, after being crossed by SUISSE D’OR near the 800 Metres, ALL MY KINGDOMS came off the bridle. He added when BUDDY WATSON subsequently improved around ALL MY KINGDOMS, his mount again came off the bridle and after this did not respond to his riding and was particularly disappointing in the manner in which it weakened out of the race in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of ALL MY KINGDOMS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
