When parading behind the barriers, VAJRA THRONE made contact with the running rail. VAJRA THRONE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. VAJRA THRONE and CITY DELIGHT bumped at the start. After this, despite being ridden along, CITY DELIGHT failed to muster speed and was taken across behind runners after the 1100 Metres. COLUMBUS LINE shifted out at the start and bumped KOWLOON EAST KING which as a result then shifted out, causing COSMO ONE to be crowded for room inside JUST MISTERE. From the outside barrier, JUST MISTERE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. N Callan (GOOD SMILE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of FLYING SUPREME, causing that horse to be taken in onto DRAGON CHOICE which was in turn taken in onto WINSOME, causing DRAGON CHOICE and WINSOME to be crowded for room and to lose the running to which they were rightfully entitled. N Callan was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 16 January 2014 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 5 January 2014. Rounding the Home Turn, FLYING SUPREME and JUST MISTERE raced tight. Over the concluding stages, WINSOME was not able to be ridden right to the end of the race due to being awkwardly placed close to the heels of P J HALL which shifted in. Throughout the race, COSMO ONE and JUST MISTERE travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of JUST MISTERE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. JUST MISTERE, KOWLOON EAST KING and COLUMBUS LINE were sent for sampling.
