WELL FIT proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, WELL FIT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After being loaded, SIGHT BELIEVER became fractious and reared. Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT BELIEVER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. BRAVE BROTHER began awkwardly. On jumping, SMART ROCKER was hampered when crowded for room between WELL FIT which shifted out after beginning awkwardly and SUNNY PEARL which was taken in by POWER COOL which in turn was taken in by WALALA. Shortly after the start, SIGHT BELIEVER lost ground when crowded for room between SMART TOUCH which shifted in after being bumped by BRAVE BROTHER and BOLERO which got its head on the side and shifted out. Near the 450 Metres, WELL FIT became unbalanced after shifting out and brushing the outside running rail. Approaching the 100 Metres, WALALA was shifted out away from the heels of SPLENDID GUY. After this, WALALA was not able to obtain clear running outside SPLENDID GUY and behind WELL FIT and consequently was not able to be fully tested over the concluding stages. Over the concluding stages, SMART ROCKER was awkwardly placed behind SMART TOUCH and outside SUNNY PEARL and because of this was not able to be ridden out to the end of the race. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SPLENDID GUY at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SPLENDID GUY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BRAVE BROTHER had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of STAR OF WAI BO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUNNY PEARL, MULTIVICTORY and BRAVE BROTHER were sent for sampling.
