BEAR HERO was withdrawn on 15.11.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left knee) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MENTOR. Before being allowed to race again, BEAR HERO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded, LORD SINCLAIR became fractious and attempted to get out under the front gates, resulting in LORD SINCLAIR becoming wedged between the gates. As this was the second occasion in which LORD SINCLAIR had attempted to get out under the front gates including once in an official barrier trial, the Stewards ruled that prior to being permitted to race again, LORD SINCLAIR will be required to undergo a series of official barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TURBO KING began awkwardly. PRETTY ONE and FAT CHOY HONG KONG bumped heavily at the start, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and FAT CHOY HONG KONG shifting out, resulting in CHARLES THE GREAT being crowded for room inside MENTOR. From a wide barrier, RUMBA KING was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Also shortly after the start, PSYCHOLOGIST was taken across behind runners. CHARLES THE GREAT had difficulty obtaining clear running until after the 200 Metres. For some distance after the 200 Metres, EL ZONDA raced tight inside FAT CHOY HONG KONG and near the 100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of that horse. Throughout the race, LONGWAH SUPREME and MAC ROW travelled wide and without cover. THE PEAK and COSMIC BOOM were sent for sampling.
