CITY OF LIGHTS stood flat-footed as the start was effected and consequently lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, CITY OF LIGHTS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. O’HALO began awkwardly and shortly after the start made heavy contact with GROUP LEADER, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Near the 250 Metres, O’HALO was shifted back to the inside of NAMJONG BLOSSOMS when disappointed for running between that horse and GOOD SMILE. Passing the 200 Metres, FLYING CHINA, which was closing off the race strongly, was shifted away from the heels of O’HALO. FLYING CHINA was then unable to obtain clear running and close to the finishing line shifted in away from the heels of NAMJONG BLOSSOMS and in doing so bumped O’HALO which became unbalanced and shifted in towards the running rail, resulting in its rider, D Whyte, not being able to fully test O’HALO over the concluding stages. After this, FLYING CHINA continued to be unable to obtain clear running. Right on the finishing line, FIVE STARS HOTEL was crowded for room between NAMJONG BLOSSOMS and GOOD SMILE, both of which shifted marginal ground. O’HALO, WHAT A HEART and NAMJONG BLOSSOMS were sent for sampling.
