Steward Report Predict Pace Map
From the outside barrier, JUST GOOD was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, TAKE BY STORM was crowded for room by LINKED WIN which at this time was steadied away from the heels of BINGO BINGO (M Zahra) after being taken in by that horse. M Zahra was advised to exercise care. After the 1100 Metres, TAKE BY STORM and LINKED WIN momentarily raced in restricted room inside TELECOM TOP STAR. Approaching the 600 Metres, CAGA SPIRIT got its head up and proved difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TELECOM TOP STAR. In this incident, CAGA SPIRIT shifted in, resulting in DR UNION being crowded for room. After the 600 Metres, BINGO BINGO brushed the running rail. Near the 250 Metres, TAKE BY STORM raced in restricted room between LINKED WIN which initially got its head on the side and shifted in and ASMODAI which shifted out marginally when commencing to give ground. Near the 100 Metres, JUST GOOD was shifted to the inside of ASMODAI to continue improving. Near the 50 Metres, MEGABUCKS and LINKED WIN came into contact due to MEGABUCKS being crowded for room inside TELECOM TOP STAR. H W Lai (MEGABUCKS) reported that his mount was inclined to lay out throughout the race. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FLYING KEEPER, W C Marwing stated that after beginning satisfactorily, the horse did not muster speed in the early stages. He said he was obliged to ride his mount along throughout the race to have it maintain its position, however, at no stage of the race did FLYING KEEPER travel comfortably. He said making the Home Turn when placed under heavy pressure, FLYING KEEPER got its head up and then did not stretch out in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of FLYING KEEPER and ASMODAI after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, T Angland reported that TELECOM TOP STAR coughed on a number of occasions when pulling up. An endoscopic examination of TELECOM TOP STAR showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM TOP STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on MEGABUCKS at the request of Trainer K W Lui. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MEGABUCKS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TAKE BY STORM, FASCINATING SMILE and BINGO BINGO were sent for sampling. <31/5/2012 Additional Veterinary Report>After the race, Jockey T Angland reported that TELECOM TOP STAR coughed on a number of occasions when pulling up. An endoscopic examination of TELECOM TOP STAR revealed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. TELECOM TOP STAR was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer T W Leung this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right hind leg. As previously advised, TELECOM TOP STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
