D DAY SUPER was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore – capped elbow). Before being allowed to race again, D DAY SUPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FORTUNE TOGETHER was difficult to load. Having in mind FORTUNE TOGETHER’s previous record in respect of being difficult to load, the Stewards ruled that prior to being permitted to race again, FORTUNE TOGETHER will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. TITANIUM ALLOY was slow to begin. SECRET OF WINNING began awkwardly. From the outside barrier, CHINA GOOD was taken across behind runners at the start. Shortly after the start, FORTUNE TOGETHER and BRILLIANT LIGHT were crowded for room between KING OF THE DAY and HANNIBAL BARCA which shifted in. In the early stages, IDYLLIC WIND proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. Over the final 100 Metres, SECRET OF WINNING was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not able to be tested. Throughout the race, HANNIBAL BARCA and BRILLIANT LIGHT travelled wide and without cover. K C Leung (CHINA GOOD) was spoken to regarding permitting his mount to shift in after passing the winning post, resulting in FORTUNE TOGETHER being crowded for room. SECRET OF WINNING, RIDE ON THE FIRE and ASSURE were sent for sampling.
