RUMBA KING was difficult to load and then after being loaded became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, RUMBA KING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. CLEMENT SPIRIT was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room between NAMJONG HUNTER and RUMBA KING which shifted in. In this incident, CLEMENT SPIRIT made contact with the hindquarters of NAMJONG HUNTER which became unbalanced. After this, NAMJONG HUNTER was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed. LUCKY CHEVALIER was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between SOHNA and VIVA GUY which shifted in. After the 900 Metres, MY BEST CHOICE was left racing wide and without cover. After the 800 Metres, TRAVEL KING was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY CHEVALIER. After the 400 Metres, NAMJONG HUNTER shifted in when disappointed for running between RUMBA KING and AMAZING JOURNEY which shifted to the inside of BLOSSOM DAILY. In the early part of the Straight, FELAROF got its head on the side and lay in. Close to the finishing line, CLEMENT SPIRIT, which was closing off the race strongly, was shifted in away from the heels of KING OF FISH II. CLEMENT SPIRIT then raced in restricted room between KING OF FISH II and NAMJONG HUNTER. For the majority of the race, VIVA GUY travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of RUMBA KING, Apprentice K C Ng stated that although he had not ridden the horse prior to today, RUMBA KING’s action, in his opinion, particularly rounding the Home Turn was somewhat awkward. He said although RUMBA KING had clear running in the Straight, the horse when placed under pressure did not quicken as he expected and finished off the race only fairly. A veterinary inspection of RUMBA KING after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY CHEVALIER after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY CHEVALIER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that TRAVEL KING had lost its right front plate. JOHN DORY, AMAZING JOURNEY and SEA PRINCE were sent for sampling.
