GOLD JOINT was crowded for room at the start between HEY HA MASTER and TRANSCENDENCE which shifted in. ASIAN CITRUS began awkwardly and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between RAISING SUN and DESCARTES which shifted out. Then shortly afterwards, ASIAN CITRUS was steadied away from the heels of RAISING SUN which shifted in. As the start was effected, ZEZAO bounded in the air and consequently lost ground. After the 900 Metres, ZEZAO got its head up on a number of occasions, proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RAISING SUN. After this, ZEZAO got its head on the side and hung out. A veterinary inspection of ZEZAO after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The racing manners of ZEZAO were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ZEZAO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. From the outside barrier, SIMPLY JOY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. TRANSCENDENCE hung out rounding the Home Turn. The performance of RACING SPORT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, RACING SPORT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that RAISING SUN had bled from both nostrils and had lost its right front plate. Trainer D Cruz advised that it is now the intention of the connections to retire RAISING SUN. A veterinary inspection of BUMBLE BEE after the race did not show any significant findings. ZEZAO, FUN AND FAST and SUNSHINE BOY were sent for sampling.
