SHARE OF GOLD began very awkwardly and after this was ridden along to obtain a forward position, however, after the 900 Metres was steadied when racing tight outside GREEN ZONE which got its head on the side and shifted out slightly. This resulted in SHARE OF GOLD racing back in the field. SUPREME TAIJI was checked when crowded for room at the start between YOUNG TURBO and JOYFUL LUCK which was taken out by SPACE RACE which in turn was taken out by MING HOI GLORY which shifted out at the start. Shortly after the start, STALLION SUPREME was steadied after racing tight between SUPER BROTHER and DANE PATROL. Near the 800 Metres, STALLION SUPREME was again crowded for room between SUPER BROTHER and EAGLE REGIMENT which shifted out. Near the 600 Metres, LUCKY RED, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEARTLAND. Approaching the 400 Metres, MING HOI GLORY got its head on the side, hung out and proved difficult to ride. M Chadwick (SPACE RACE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 300 Metres he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out, resulting in that horse being taken across the running of LUCKY RED, causing that horse to be checked and lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. SUPREME TAIJI, which was following LUCKY RED, was checked away from the heels of that horse and shifted in and in doing so made heavy contact with YOUNG TURBO, causing that horse to become unbalanced. M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 11 July 2011 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Friday, 1 July 2011. In addition, M Chadwick was fined $40,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating one further raceday. SPACE RACE continued to shift out, resulting in HEARTLAND being hampered near the 200 Metres. Over the concluding stages, GREEN ZONE, SUPER BROTHER and STALLION SUPREME all raced tight outside LUCKY RED (B Doyle) which shifted out. A short distance later, LUCKY RED was taken out by SHARE OF GOLD (W M Lai) which at this time improved into a tight run between LUCKY RED and SUPREME TAIJI. As s result of this, LUCKY RED was taken out, causing STALLION SUPREME, SUPER BROTHER and GREEN ZONE to be all severely checked. Both B Doyle and W M Lai were severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that LUCKY RED had sustained a cut to the inside of the right front cannon. A veterinary inspection of SHARE OF GOLD after the race revealed that the horse was distressed. Before being allowed to race again, SHARE OF GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EAGLE REGIMENT and DANE PATROL were sent for sampling. <27/6/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>SHARE OF GOLD, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time the horse was distressed. SHARE OF GOLD was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a very stiff and restricted action. As previously advised, SHARE OF GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
