STAR SON began awkwardly. MR MARFACH ands SUNNY FAY were slow to begin. From a wide barrier, PERFECT SPRINT was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the first turn near the 850 Metres, STAR SON momentarily raced tight inside KEEN WONGCHOY. SUNNY FAY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and then after the 150 Metres got its head on the side and hung out. Near the 100 Metres, KEEN WONGCHOY got its head on the side and shifted in a number of horses abruptly. Throughout the race, GLENEALY STAR and SUPREME FLIGHT travelled wide and without cover. O Doleuze (PERFECT SPRINT) was reprimanded for raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder. O Doleuze had been previously spoken to by the Stewards regarding this matter. A veterinary inspection of SUNNY FAY after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its right front plate. SUNNY FAY, MANDARIN and KEEN WONGCHOY were sent for sampling.
