PROLIFIC CHAMPION was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of mucus on scoping after track work). Before being allowed to race again, PROLIFIC CHAMPION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ELEGANCE KLAMMER was slow to begin and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. From wide barriers, NIGHTLIGN, FLYING SUPREME and LONDON CHINA TOWN were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1300 Metres, TAVERNER was momentarily steadied away from the heels of PAGANINI’S SOUL. FLYING IN (C K Tong) got its head on the side and hung out making the turn after the 800 Metres. C K Tong reported that the saddle on FLYING IN then shifted back rounding the Home Turn. At the entrance to the Straight, PAGANINI’S SOUL became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by TAVERNER which was laying in. Over the final 200 Metres, FAMILISTS shifted out under pressure. ZAIDAN and FAMILISTS were sent for sampling.
